Indonesian Art Paintings

Fitrajaya Nusananta was born in Jambi, Sumatra, Indonesia in 1967. He now lives and works in Holland. This academically trained artist, who is well known in Indonesia and Holland, is about to be introduced worldwide. Mirroring recent developments in his birthplace, Fitrajaya paints with an enormous intensity and vitality in a "line play" of magnificent colors.

Traditional Indonesian mythological themes from Irian Jaya, everyday people, and figures from the animal world, are recurring subjects in his work.

Fitrajaya's father, Sabril Jamal, the famous Indonesian artist, is an important influence. Fitrajaya is one of the forerunners of the new generation painters.
